Consumption of safe drinking water, proper sanitation and adoption of correct hygiene practices has a significant impact on the health of people. Water contamination is a severe problem in Odisha with Jagatsinghpur being one of the districts severely affected by water quality issues such as high salinity, iron and biological contamination. In recent past years, Sneha Abhiyan with financial support from Action Aid has installed deep tube wells and water facilities in the remote areas of Erasama block and consistently raising awareness on appropriate sanitation practices. The staff members of Sneha Abhiyan are trained by Swachha Bharat Campaign, and the team team is in field for raising awareness and motivating people to install the toilet through the government schemes.
Sneha Abhiyan, a non-governmental, non-profit organization registered under Society Registration Act 1860, is set up to develop and implement solutions that balance the need for food, shelter, rights, income and environmental quality prescribed for all.
