Objectives
Sneha Abhiyan envisions “A caring and empowered community towards the vulnerable groups in the society without any exploitation & discrimination, with access to basic necessities of life and ability to assert the rights for dignified living”.
Sneha Abhiyan selflessly dedicates itself to working for the Socio-economic upliftment of various categories of vulnerable groups especially women and children in the Society. It undertakes programs in every sphere of life concerning the vulnerable group such as women, children, People/Children with Disability (P/CWD), Elderly, Dalit, scheduled caste, scheduled tribes and people living below poverty lines for their morel, spiritual, mental and intellectual development and shall strive to secure for them social, economic and political justice through the effective and systematic implementation of its programs. Below mentioned are the objectives of Sneha Abhiyan however it can also undertake new activities as and when applicable with the approval of the executive body.
- To protect the right of children, especially girls children such as work against equal rights, killing girls feticide, promoting education and protection from exploitation and early marriage.
- To conduct educational, environmental and sociological studies.
- To promote the use of Information & Communication Technology (ICT) for the socio-economic development of the community.
- To organize training and refresher programs for the volunteers and officials of different Non-Government Organisations to strengthen their development skills.
- To disseminate information and knowledge, edit, publish, and print literature and documents,establish and maintain libraries, and organize seminars/conferences/ meetings, etc.
- To promote the participation of youth (unemployed as well as students) in various social work and vocational training which would lead them for self-dependant.
- To establish educational, professional and vocational institutions that would strengthen the developmental process.
- To organize lectures, seminars and workshops to help or strengthen the character-building process.
- To work on the mental health-related activitieswith a focus to psychosocial Care in disasters.
- To establish a cadre of barefoot psychosocial caregivers in the society, especially in disaster-prone areas.
- To establish a resource center on Psychosocial care and provide training to various government and non-government service providers.

- To carry out the research activities on psychosocial care and publish papers in collaboration with NIMHANS,SCB medical college and other technical agencies/bodies.
- To work for the community-based rehabilitation of Uncared Aged, orphan children, widows, single women, people/children with disability and deprived groups.
- To spread awareness about STD and HIV/AIDS and work for the welfare of people living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHAs).
- To work in the field of reproductive, maternal and child health services including nutritional services.
- To work on the activities that will reduce child malnutrition and mother anemia in the communities.
- To create awareness about communicable and vector-borne disease control measures through better hygiene and sanitation.
- To raise awareness on the community to use safe drinking water, anduse appropriate sanitation facilities and hygiene practices.
- To facilitate and promote water, sanitation, hygiene and sewerage-related activities in societies, especially in rural and urban setups (slums).
- To eliminate the difference between the health status of people based on their religion, region, caste, class and gender.
- To encourage community on organ donation aspects and link them with respective hospitals.
- To promote social welfare activities with special emphasis on women empowerment.
- To work for the betterment of weaker sections viz. SC/ST, women, children, senior citizens, and disabled etc. with a vision of social justice.
- To speed up the process of rural development and strengthen the agricultural, fishery, horticultural and animal husbandry sectors.
- To work for child protection especially to eliminate child labor, child trafficking, and child abuse and focus on the education and resettlement of these deprived children through community-based rehabilitation and institution-based rehabilitation.
- To promote a friendly learning environment through joyful learning and play education in the community for the dropout children and deprived children.
- To facilitate the formation of Self Help Groups and cooperatives and run income generation activities by linking them with banks for sustainable livelihood.
- To work on various technology base research projects on various livelihood activities.
- To work for environmental awareness, sustainable development and participative management of local natural resources for village-level development.
- To create a trained volunteer base at the community level to accelerate the development activities.
- To fight against social superstitions, blind beliefs discrimination and harassment based on gender, caste and class.
- To create awareness among people about the functions and powers of PRIs (Panchayati Raj Institutions) and increase people’s participation in democratic institutions.
- To work on various aspects on disaster management such as activities like community and school preparedness, task force building and training, community and school contingency plan preparation, and training to various service providers.
- To work on strengthening early warning dissemination, relief management, and activities related to recovery, rehabilitation and resettlement for the affected community in collaboration with both community, government and donor agencies.
- To work on the various issue related to climate change includes raising awareness in the community, encouragingthe community to adopt the measure to cope with the stress and liaison with various agencies and governments on the issue.
- To fight against corruption and make people aware of their legal and consumer rights.
- To collaborate with corporate houses and companies to fulfill their social responsibilities through the implementation of various development projects.
- To work for the Policy formulation and implementation such as : working with the government and other NGOs at the policy formulation level.
- To affirmatively coordinate with the State and Central Government in the implementation of developmental schemes.
- Through the use of mass media like Radio, Television, Newspapers and articles in magazines and journals, the association shall make every effort to create awareness of the problems of the disabled and inspire public attention and of the Government and seek their co-operation and work in collaboration to find out their remedies.
- To conduct the social survey and social research on the disabled of the society and to provide legal aid and protect the rights and interests of the disabled community.
- The Association shall take careful steps to raise the standard of living of the disabled community. It shall inform the community of the opportunities available for employment and at the same time recommend and cases of the disabled for employment to all sectors of economic activities and train and guide them to make them suitable for different kinds of vocations. The Association shall operate a loan fund for the benefit of the disabled members of the association.
- The organization shall conduct or sponsor research by persons, associations and institutions for solutions of the problems of the disabled and gather more ideas to facilitate their effective rehabilitation. It shall undertake training programs, the workshop for the disabled and at the same time sponsor them for such programs organized by various institutions, associations and governments.
- For the attainment of the objectives and to run its activities the association shall try to acquire land and building and other facilities on a hire or lease or ownership basis.
- To borrow with or without any security for the fulfillment of the purpose of the Society and accept donations, gifts, contributions, grants and aid both in casework kind from India and abroad as well as subscription loans from members, the general public, government I.e. authorities and other institutions
- To organize Cultural Programmes, symposiums, and seminars for the benefit of the vulnerable groups such as children,women, the disabled,Dalits, and uncared aged as well as for the association.

- To undertake distribution and sale of physical aids, appliances, braille and other types of equipment for the benefit of the members.
- To keep contracts through correspondence, visits and affiliation with associations, institutions, and agencies within India and abroad for the promotion of the programs and projects of the associations.

- To implement programs like natural realities mission non-formal educational and integrated education for the disadvantaged section of the society.
- To establish vocational, technical, and professional, institutions for providing research facilities.
- To Promote local, and regional arts and arts crafts including setting up museums and engaging in doing research in different aspects of Indian Culture related to its traditional philosophy.
- To undertake various development activities in the field of women and child development like crèches for working ailing women and children, short-stay homes, institutions for women in distress, Balwari nutrition for children, education work for prevention of atrocities on women, Anganwadi, hostel facilities for working women, etc.
- To rehabilitate child labour and women labor.
- To provide the entire rural population with safe drinking water, rural sanitation, and waste management and undertake programsthe IRDP, JRY, Social Forestry, Village link roads, watershed conservation, and rural housing.
- Prohibition and drug abuse prevention.
- To help to eradicate evils live bonded labour, untouchability and to assistthe aged, begger prevention, control of juvenile and adjustment etc.
- To provide and integrated family health care cum family welfare schemes.
- To undertake and implement national aids control programs, blood donation programs and other health-related programs.
- To provide environmental education and information through organizing seminars, symposia and workshops.
- To drive campaign against environmental pollution and to unit people to preserve the national surrounding.
- To restore degraded areas throughthe application of available technology and scientific knowledge.
- To set up small-scale cottage industries and other allied activities through the support of KVIC and KVB.
- To survey, andcollect statistical data to help and utilize in research and other developed activities.
- To help to develop and promote indicated programs, that is consultancy making raw materials, arrangement of capital expenditures and all other facilities for massive rural industrialization, animal husbandry, agricultural pisciculture, aquaculture, floriculture, etc.
- To promote and facilitate the establishment of people organization, village committees, women’s associations and youth forums in view of enabling their active participation in the planning and implementation of all rural development programs.
- To conduct training programs, evaluation, assessment, research, and social audit of the various program implemented by government and other agencies.
